A Cambridge College Alumna Gone Too Soon

Rosalind Smith
Rosalind Smith [MM '13]

It is with deep sadness that we share news of the passing of Rosalind Smith [MM ‘13]. Rosalind was a committed friend of Cambridge College who contributed consistently to the College in a number of ways. She was past president of the Alumni Council (2018) and at the 2018 Fall Festival she was recognized with the Distinguished Alumni Award. Rosalind regularly made herself available as an alumna, speaking on the value of her time here, e.g. she was in a small group of students and alumni who we introduced to Jackie Bezos when she visited campus. Rosalind was also involved in various CC admissions marketing materials and campaigns.

Rosalind was a member of the Sigma Beta Delta honor society. She had been employed by Sanofi Genzyme for the last six years as a Project Manager, Corporate Operations. Rosalind attended the University of Massachusetts, Boston, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Science with a concentration in Management Information Systems. Rosalind was employed in the financial industry for eight years. She worked at State Street Bank, Bank of Boston, and Mellon Trust Bank.

After this time, Rosalind decided to apply to the Master’s in Management Program at Cambridge College. While attending Cambridge College, Rosalind discovered she had a calling to serve underprivileged women. She wanted to provide more services to women including those who are veterans, so she started the Women Empowerment Initiative for Change while attending Cambridge College. Rosalind most recently worked at Sanofi-Genzyme and had a role in the Genzyme President’s office.

She will be greatly missed.
