The University completes its integration with Cambridge College, expanding its community, reach, academic opportunities, and impact.
LONGMEADOW, Mass., September 7, 2026.
Today, Bay Path University announced the completion of its integration of Cambridge College, which brings Cambridge College’s academic programs, students, faculty, and staff into Bay Path University. The milestone marks a significant moment in the University’s history and expands its student population to more than 5,000 learners across Massachusetts, Puerto Rico, and beyond.
The U.S. Department of Education’s final approval marks the culmination of a two-year process that began in February 2024, when Bay Path University and Cambridge College jointly announced that Bay Path would acquire Cambridge College. Following the necessary regulatory and accreditation approvals, the acquisition is now complete.
Throughout the integration process, Bay Path prioritized consistent support and clear communication to help Cambridge College students navigate the transition and make informed decisions about continuing their education with Bay Path. More than 90% of Cambridge College learners enrolled in the most recent spring and summer terms have elected to continue their education with Bay Path, reflecting strong student engagement with and understanding of the process.
The integration brings together two institutions with complementary strengths and shared values, expanding Bay Path University’s geographic and programmatic reach. It connects Bay Path’s longstanding presence in Western Massachusetts with Cambridge College’s established presence in Eastern Massachusetts, online programs serving learners across the United States, Puerto Rico, and relationships with employers and community organizations. Together, the institutions provide a broader range of programs and services for learners and a stronger connection to workforce needs.

For more than five decades, Cambridge College has provided accessible, career-oriented education to adult learners, helping students advance their education while balancing work, family, and other responsibilities. Bay Path, founded in 1897, has a long history of innovation in higher education, evolving from a business school to a residential undergraduate college dedicated to educating women and, today, a university serving learners through traditional undergraduate, online undergraduate, graduate, health sciences, and workforce-focused programs.
Both institutions have longstanding relationships with businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community partners, providing a foundation for developing academic programs and educational services that respond to the needs of today’s and tomorrow’s workforce.

While Cambridge College is now fully integrated into Bay Path University, its name and legacy will remain part of the University’s future. Cambridge College at Bay Path University will be used in connection with designated locations and programs, preserving the Cambridge College identity and its connections to the communities it has served. Bay Path University will also serve as the official custodian of Cambridge College records, including alumni records.

The University will continue to invest in high-demand academic programs, allied health programs, innovative approaches to teaching and learning, flexible educational pathways, and partnerships that connect learners with meaningful career opportunities.
