Week 3 focused on "Sustainability from Process to Product," where the Fellows heard from local business owners and entrepreneurs about how they achieved sustainability in the United States.
During the week, they heard presentations from Stephanie Dodson, Managing Director of the Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation, who spoke about “Investing in Social Entrepreneurs to Create Systematic Change.” Following her speech, Priya Samant of Earth Friendz, discussed “Sustainability, Product Development, and Responsiveness for the Global Community.”
The theme this week for the Cambridge College Mandela Washington Fellows was Community and Talent Development with a focus on leadership development, community wellness and cultivation of local talent
Early in the week, Founder and CEO of Be the Change, Inc., delivered a presentation about Incubators for Entrepreneurial Talent.
Then the Fellows visited the City Year Headquarters for Idealism. There, they toured the facility and learned about the importance of reducing the student dropout ratio and the work the organization does in an attempt to keep all students in school.
Twenty-five of Africa's emerging leaders in business and entrepreneurship arrived at Cambridge College (CC) last week to embark upon an intensive six-week business and entrepreneurship skill-building program. Cambridge College is proud to be one of 37 institutions and one of three in Massachusetts to have been chosen by the U.S. Department of State to host these emerging leaders from Sub-Saharan Africa.

Moved by the plight of the Kurds of Turkey, a people whose language was forbidden by law, author and award-winning storyteller Diane began a project to preserve the folktales of these last Kurdish storytellers.
On April 6, Cambridge College - Springfield hosted the first-ever Cambridge College “Vet Together.” The “Vet Together” served as a platform for veterans, students, community members and all attendees to learn about support services, education benefits and job resources. Feature presentations were given by representatives from Braveminds, MGM Springfield, The 7 Eagle Group, The Springfield Vet Center, Town of Ludlow VFW Services, Town of Danbury (Connecticut) Vet Center and the United Way of the Pioneer Valley.
