Background

Stephanie Guerrier is a Counselor and educator with a decade of experience working with children from diverse backgrounds in the mental health field. She obtained her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern Connecticut State University in 2012 and her Bachelor's in Psychology from the same academic institution.

As a psychotherapist, Stephanie has treated children afflicted by a wide range of psychiatric impairments and disabilities. Throughout her career, Stephanie's practice has been to deliver culturally responsive care to at-risk children from marginalized communities. Present day, she continues to provide outpatient treatment to children and families at a community mental health clinic. In addition to her work as a practitioner, Stephanie also serves as a clinical supervisor for clinicians, practicum students, interns, and fellows of various disciplines in the mental health field. As she promotes professional growth and development to early career counselors, Stephanie has mentored new clinicians at her practice.

In light of the current shortage of therapists amidst a growing need for mental health services, Stephanie sought to educate the next generation of counselors. She has served in this capacity as an educator in academia since the Summer of 2022. In this academic role, Stephanie has instructed students in Counseling courses, preparing them for fieldwork and clinical practice.
