Dr. Santiago Méndez is an esteemed professional with a rich background in education, business management, and community service. He is pursuing a second Doctorate in Business Administration with a focus on Quality Systems and Improvement Management, showcasing his commitment to excellence in organizational development. Dr. Méndez's professional philosophy is eclectic, drawing from pragmatism, existentialism, and social reconstructionism, emphasizing the importance of action, reflection, and freedom in the educational process.
He is deeply involved in community service, evidenced by his engagement in initiatives like Proyecto Matria and projects from the Puerto Rico Department of Education and the University of Puerto Rico, aimed at improving educational efforts in Puerto Rico. Dr. Méndez has also played significant roles in various institutions, including being the Director of the Teachers Preparation Program at the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez and serving as a Senior Professor and Dean for Puerto Rico and Hispanic Initiatives at Cambridge College. His work experience reflects a strong commitment to education, leadership, and community development.
