Background

Dr. Amelia P. Murrin is an adjunct faculty member in the Cambridge College M.S. in Quality Systems and Improvement Management and DBA in Quality Systems and Improvement Management programs. She brings more than 30 years of professional experience across manufacturing, energy, pharmaceuticals, information technology, business consulting, and higher education. Her leadership background includes supplier quality management, supply chain management, customer service, sales forecasting, inventory management, information management, IT implementation, and process improvement.

Dr. Murrin’s current research interests include supply chain management, quality systems management, and process improvement, with a strong emphasis on mixed methods, qualitative research, and action research. She is deeply committed to supporting doctoral learners through collaborative mentorship, emphasizing scholarly writing, research ethics and integrity, and critical thinking. Her approach as a doctoral chair and committee member is grounded in partnership, careful review, and timely, constructive feedback.

She holds a DBA in Quality Systems Management from National Graduate School (2013), an MBA in Operations Management from the University at Albany (1982), an M.S. in Animal Science from the University of Maine (1973), and both a B.S. in Biology and B.Ed. in Secondary Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland (1971).

Dr. Murrin has been recognized with numerous academic and professional honors, including the GE Management Award, induction into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and multiple awards for academic excellence. She has presented nationally on performance measurement, benchmarking, ERP implementation, and the human side of organizational change.
