Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing Job Description

Job Summary

  • Reporting directly to the President, the Vice-President of Enrollment Management and Marketing is responsible for providing vision, comprehensive leadership, effective planning, program development, budget oversight, data analysis, and institutional coordination for marketing and enrollment management, recruitment, retention and student development functions.
  • Develops the strategic recruitment plan, policies and practice standards for undergraduate and graduate admission on the main campus and throughout all regional centers.
  • Oversees the development of strategic marketing plans for the college including outreach and advertising designed to attract and recruit students from targeted segments consistent with the college mission and core population.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of marketing and implements necessary revisions to assure the optimal impact of college resources applied to these areas.  
  • Manages a budget including personnel and expenses in support of enrollment outreach and support, marketing and advertising and student support services.
  • In collaboration with the Management Council and Executive Leadership Council, the vice-president develops enrollment goals based on strategic analysis of student success, program specific and institutional capacity, market research and geo-demographic data.
  • Application of enrollment management concepts and strategies.
  • Oversees the design and implementation of activities related to student recruitment, selection, and admissions.
  • Ensures the institution’s conformance with applicable regulatory and licensing standards.
  • Prepares applicable federal and state reports.
  • Conducts reviews of all admissions, student navigators and marketing.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Oversees the offices of admissions, student navigation and marketing
  • Develops multi-year institutional enrollment plan to serve as a planning guide and vision statement 
  • Develops recruitment plans college wide & manages all recruitment efforts
  • Provides effective personnel management and supervision of staff
  • Develops effective marketing strategies to grow enrollment and other institutional marketing objectives
  • Develops and manages operational budgets, and provides sound, data-driven enrollment projections for the development of College-wide planning and budgeting
  • Works collaboratively with the Academic Deans and Vice-Presidents to improve internal and external communication, institutional planning, and services to students
  • Collaborates with members of Management Council (i.e.., Jenzabar Users Group, Enrollment Management Team, Strategic Planning, etc.)  
  • Reviews and develops policies which support enrollment growth
  • Communicates to constituencies regarding college enrollment
  • Recommends new academic offerings to Leadership based on prospective student interest and market demands
  • Identify new uses for technology to provide excellence in service
  • Identify trends, foresee problems and resolve conflicts

Education & Experience Required

A master’s preferred. Ten plus years of demonstrated progressively responsible leadership experience in higher education admissions, enrollment management and marketing, and student services are required. An understanding of net tuition revenue, predictive modeling, and adult education along with evidence of strong communication and relationship-building skills, analytical ability, and familiarity with current technology utilized in the development and execution of comprehensive marketing and recruitment plans are key components for success. Demonstrated experience reflecting a successful record of leadership; strategic planning, marketing, implementation, and goal attainment; team building; and general management (staff supervision, policy development, and fiscal management).

Physical Effort Required

The candidate is required to be mobile and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifteen pounds.
