A Thousand Doorways:
Journey among the Kurds of Turkey
A captivating true story written and performed by Diane Edgecomb
Moved by the plight of the Kurds of Turkey, a people whose language was forbidden by law, author and award-winning storyteller Diane began a project to preserve the folktales of these last Kurdish storytellers.
Over years of travel to remote mountain villages, she collected stories for her book: A Fire in My Heart, the first collection of Kurdish folktales ever to be published in English. Her one-woman show, One Thousand Doorways, tells of this extraordinary, dangerous, and life-changing experience and highlights several beautiful Kurdish folktales.
