Cambridge College names national innovator, entrepreneur Robert Goldberg as Koch Chair and MBA Executive Director

Robert Goldberg, Koch Chair, Executive in Residence and MBA Executive Director at Cambridge College School of Management

Cambridge College has named business executive, innovation expert and entrepreneur Robert M. Goldberg as Koch Chair, Executive in Residence, and MBA Executive Director at its School of Management.  Mr. Goldberg will be a key leader in growing the institution’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) program that launched in 2015.

The Koch Chair is an endowed executive residency position designed to attract a distinguished member of the business community to serve as an executive resource and team leader to support the core work of the faculty and the school.  Robert’s appointment as Koch Chair comes as Cambridge College invests in the expansion of its MBA degree program that prepares students for careers in management and leadership positions in business, non-profit and government organizations. An instructor at Cambridge College, Mr. Goldberg led the design of its new MBA capstone course, and is the faculty-advisor of its student-run management consulting firm.

“It is a great honor to be the recipient of this endowed chair,” Mr. Goldberg said. “It is such a unique opportunity to build new and innovative programs that enrich the adult student’s experiences with hands-on applied learning. In making this investment, Cambridge College is ensuring that our students are more employable and competitive in today’s regional and global job market,” added Goldberg.

A proven innovator with a track record in innovation and new products management, Goldberg has been awarded multiple patents for his product designs.  His entrepreneurial leadership includes founding Stages of Innovation, LLC, and creating the STInnovation™ Method for new products.  Goldberg spent a decade at Pitney Bowes, Inc. where he was Vice President for Global Product Strategy and Market Development in the Global Financial Services Division.

“A priority at Cambridge College is to provide our adult students with the knowledge and experience to succeed in what has become a very competitive global market for talent,” said Deborah Jackson, President of Cambridge College. “We are thrilled to have someone of Robert Goldberg’s caliber spearhead the development and growth of our MBA program given his exceptional success in the private sector and his demonstrated commitment to our students.”

A focus of Goldberg’s will be to expand program offerings that align with areas that are in demand and are relevant to potential employers.  “More employers seek degree holders with leadership skills, strategic thinking capabilities and creative problem-solving abilities - which are the cornerstones of an MBA degree,” said Goldberg.  “Robert brings a wealth of knowledge in product development and strategy and is able to teach our students to understand and apply real-world cases,” said Dr. Mary Ann Joseph, Dean of the School of Management.

Goldberg received a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance from Adelphi University and has taught at Baruch College Continuing & Professional Studies at the City University of New York.
