MALCOLM BONNER
M.ED. ’82 Faculty Fielding Graduate Institute

I often use the Cambridge College value system and learning model in my own teaching – ideas like, “Once we know, we can’t go back to not knowing.” Now, when I work with adult learners, I know from my Cambridge College experience that they don’t come into the classroom as empty vessels, and that it’s important to be able to make strong connections with them. Because I learned how to make those kinds of connections at Cambridge College, I’m able to help other students see the light within themselves, and to shine that light so that it reflects on others.

Following 12 years at Temple University as director of its Act101 Program (which provides pre-freshman preparation, academic support, and enrichment to economically eligible Pennsylvania resident students), Malcolm Bonner served as director of the Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program at the University of Pennsylvania. He left UPenn in June 2004 in order to accept a full-time faculty position with The Fielding Graduate Institute. He also has taught Values and Professional Ethics at Lincoln University since 1995, and has been a member of theCambridge College National Institute for Teaching Excellence Program faculty since 2001.
