Retiring Core Faculty Members Celebrated
Five retiring Core faculty members were celebrated at a luncheon held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. The elegant event was sponsored by the Office of the President and the Office of Academic Affairs, and it honored long-time retiring Core faculty members, including:
- Dr. Ethlyn Davis Fuller – 1977-2017 (40 years of service) – School of Education
- Professor Robert Prague – 1978-2017 (39 years of service) – School of Psychology and Counseling
- Dr. Lyda S. Peters –1981-2017 (36 years of service) – School of Education
- Professor Anne Lee Scott – 1991-2017 (26 years of service) – School of Undergraduate Studies
- Dr. Nicholas Rubino – 1993-2017 (24 years of service) – School of Education
This retirement celebration featured the Faculty Legacy Project. Initiated by the Core faculty and launched at the March 27, 2017 Afternoon Tea with the Provost, the Faculty Legacy Project is a multi-media endeavor designed to capture the legacy of retiring faculty and archive some of the rich history of the College. The Faculty Legacy Project includes a slideshow, an exhibit, and a narrative video of long-time Core faculty who have given shape to the College’s philosophy of teaching and learning. At the retirement luncheon, faculty had the opportunity to view slideshow and artifacts from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, including photos, magazines, and a valuable original academic audit report. The video narrative will be completed and shown at one of the College’s upcoming celebrations before we move to our new Boston campus.
When presenting the plaques to the retiring Core faculty, President Jackson expressed her deep appreciation for their dedication and exceptional commitment to Cambridge College and its mission, students and community. She wished them all the best in their retirement.
Invited guests included members of the Core faculty members, faculty emeriti, and Deans’ Council and academic personnel.
