Turning Teaching Inside Out

Turning Teaching Inside Out
“Turning Teaching Inside Out: A Pedagogy of Transformation for Community-Based Education”

The Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program brings campus-enrolled and incarcerated students together as classmates in postsecondary courses built around dialogue, collaboration, and experiential learning. Cambridge College Core Faculty member Gitte Wernaa Butin is one of the contributing authors to this book that considers the broader lessons that Inside-Out provides for community-based learning praxis, prison education and postsecondary teaching in general. Dr. Butin authored Chapter 10: “Teaching Itself: A Philosophical Exploration of Inside-Out Pedagogy.”
