Terrie Forte was recognized as one of this year's recipients of the "Eyes of Courage" Award, presented by the Center for Human Development.

Our Springfield Regional Center Director, Teresa "Terrie" Forte, was recognized as one of this year's recipients of the "Eyes of Courage" Award, presented by the Center for Human Development. These awards are given in recognition of sustained commitment to empowering women and girls to reach their full potential, and our first recipient has certainly done just that, by providing a pathway for women to reach their professional goals. Cambridge College and CHD partnered for October's "Through Her Eyes" Human Services Conference in Springfield, which covered best practices, practical workshops, inspirational keynotes, and high-quality networking for those in social work, direct care, education, or other helping professions. CC's support of CHD spans more than six years under Terrie’s leadership. In those six years, the College has worked tirelessly to assist women and girls academically, personally and professionally by creating equal access to education, preparing the CHD workforce to address the needs of our community, and collaborated on initiatives that will make a difference for next generation of female leaders. This year's event focused on at-risk young women in the Springfield community.

Terrie is a dedicated business professional, leader, community partner and friend to CHD. She and her team have developed a system of exceptional education and professional opportunities for a population of diverse, non-traditional, adult learners in Massachusetts and Connecticut.  More than 60% of Cambridge College students are women or first-generation college students, many whose opportunities may have been limited or denied without time-efficient and cost-effective education.

In addition to being the Executive Director of Cambridge College, Terrie is an instructor in the MBA Program and Undergraduate Management Studies Program. She holds a clinical master’s degree in counseling psychology from Cambridge College, a certificate in human resources from Cornell University, an MBA from the University of New Haven, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from Pace University. Terrie is a trailblazer. She is a mentor and a caring individual who creates opportunities, embraces challenges, and works to her full potential.

Congratulations and thank you to Terrie on her selfless work to support and mentor women and girls across Springfield and the Cambridge College community!
