The Elizabeth J. McCormack Chair in the Humanities at Cambridge College provides an opportunity for distinguished educators to play an active role in the intellectual life of this unique learning community.  Senior scholars and practitioners are appointed to the Elizabeth J. McCormack Chair on the basis of their commitment to inclusive higher education, as well as their understanding of the central role the humanities must play in the learning process.   In keeping with the College’s learning philosophy, each holder of the Elizabeth J. McCormack Chair creates an individualized plan for fostering discussion and sharing knowledge; lectures, seminars, symposia, workshops and classes to share new understandings of – and perspectives on – the humanities with the Cambridge College community.
