Application Fee
Include a check or money order, made payable to Cambridge College, for $100. This fee is non-refundable.

Curriculum Vitae or Resume
An ideal candidate can demonstrate five or more years of field experience. A résumé is a summary of your education and work experience. A curriculum vitae (cv) is a detailed synopsis of your background and skills, including a summary of your educational history; teaching, research and professional experience; publications and presentations (including dates); grants, fellowships, awards, and honors; and professional associations, licenses and affiliations.

Statement of Purpose
Your statement should be written by you alone, be typed, double-spaced, and no more than 1,000 words. In your statement, please discuss:
- Your background: how your experiences have prepared you for the Ed.D. program.
- Your objectives for advanced graduate study: career goals, possible faculty mentors, and your initial research interests.
- Your decision to apply to Cambridge College: why you think there is a good fit between your objectives and our program.
- If seeking licensure, make your response specific to the area and level of licensure you seek.
- Any additional information you think would distinguish you as an ideal doctoral candidate.

5. Official Transcripts
Please submit transcripts for all undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate coursework you have completed. You must request official transcripts from the schools you attended to be mailed directly to Cambridge College's Department of Educational Leadership. They must arrive unopened. Please send only ONE official transcript per degree. Request your transcripts well before the deadline. Expect a 2-4 week turnaround for most institutions. Student copies of transcripts printed from a university web site are not acceptable.
Cambridge College alumni must also request transcripts from the Registrar’s Office. This can be done free of charge by completing and submitting the transcript request form included in the application booklet.

Letter of Recommendation from a Graduate School Professor
This letter should be from a faculty instructor who taught or advised you in graduate school, and who is well enough acquainted with your academic work to be able to write a confident assessment for you. The letter should be written within one year of your application to the doctoral program and should specifically address your candidacy as a doctoral student. If you are no longer in touch with any of your former professors, you may choose someone who has the ability to comment on your academic abilities (preferably someone who holds a doctoral degree).
Please complete the appropriate reference request form in the application booklet and give it to your recommender to submit with his/her letter. The letter should be submitted in a sealed envelope with the recommender’s signature across the flap. It may be given to the student to include in the application packet or mailed directly to the Department of Educational Leadership.

Letter of Recommendation from a Work Supervisor
This letter should be from a supervisor at your current or most recent professional employment who has enough contact with you to be able to comment specifically about your candidacy as a doctoral student.
Please complete the appropriate reference request form in the application booklet and give it to your recommender to submit with his/her letter. The letter should be submitted in a sealed envelope with the recommender’s signature across the flap. It may be given to the student to include in the application packet or mailed directly to the Department of Educational Leadership.
8.

Transfer Credit Request Form (if applicable)
In order for us to evaluate your post-master's coursework for transfer credit, you must submit the Request for Transfer/Waiver of Graduate Courses form (included in the application booklet) and attach copies of the official course descriptions from your school’s catalog OR course syllabi.
9.

Documentation of Licensure (if applicable)
Photocopy of your current educator’s license, and/or letter on employer's letterhead signed by an official (e.g. principal or human resource director) stating that you have completed the required experience. If uncertain whether your experience is acceptable, please contact your state Dept. of Education.

10. International Student Information/I-20 (if applicable)
All international students must complete this form and submit all documentation requested on the form. U.S. permanent residents should not complete this form.
11.

Qualifying Assessment (QA)
In place of a standardized test, the QA evaluates the following:
- Your applied knowledge of Social Justice
- Your applied knowledge of your graduate coursework in education.
- Your facility with the analysis, use, and presentation of data to inform decision-making.
- Your writing, critical thinking and problem-solving skills under time constraints and in complex situations.
- Your capacity for effective leadership.
Format — The QA will ask you to read, analyze and respond to questions about a series of case studies, contemporary issues and data sets. It is completed and submitted electronically, which means you will need a computer with a reliable internet connection and Microsoft Office software (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Process — Upon receipt of your complete application, the Department of Educational Leadership will email you with instructions for scheduling your QA. Please make sure your application lists an email address that you check frequently. At the scheduled time, the QA will be emailed to you as an attachment. You will then have two weeks to complete the analysis and email them back to the Department.
Accommodations — Students with disabilities who need accommodations for their qualifying assessment must notify the department in writing at the time of application.
12.

Phone Interview
The interview will help the committee more completely assess your interpersonal skills, oral communication, and goals for the degree. One member of the Admission Committee will call you at the scheduled date and time to conduct the 30 minute phone interview. You will receive instructions about scheduling your phone interview after you have submitted a complete application packet. Please make sure your application lists an email address that you check frequently.
