EAD 662 - Contemporary Issues and Topics in Educational Administration - 3 credits

Pre-practicum: 15 hours of directed field-based training required.

The effective educational administrator actively pursues further study in his/her field. By so doing, the administrator strives to acquire a knowledge base which will help deal with contemporary issues that will affect students, staff, community and the organization of the school. This course, therefore, features research and in-depth discussion of topics of immediate concern to the educational administrator. The topics may include, but will not necessarily be limited to strategic planning, organizational change, effective staff development, team building, interpersonal skills necessary for site-based management, issues of equity, and community relationships.
