Overview of Licensure Options and Practicum Requirements

Cambridge College provides licensure endorsements for the following levels of administration: superintendent/assistant superintendent, principal/assistant principal (levels K-6, 5-8, 9-12), supervisor/director, and special education administrator. All students seeking a licensure endorsement through the Master of Education (MEd) or Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) programs in the area of Educational Leadership must complete a practicum related to their concentration. The purpose of the practicum is to allow the student the opportunity to practice the competencies introduced and discussed during program coursework.

MEd students who are not pursuing licensure are not required to complete a practicum. CAGS Students who are not pursuing licensure must complete a practicum but are allowed more flexibility in the setting and activities, and they should work with their advisor to develop customized practicum experiences.
