Dan W. Butin co-authored a book, 100 Experiential Learning Activities for Social Studies, Literature, and the Arts, Grades 5-12, published by Corwin Press. The book focuses on using active learning to engage students in critical thinking and reflection about complex content knowledge in the humanities and the arts. Dr. Sandra Bridwell presented a paper at the 2007 International Conference of Transformative Learning entitled “Transformative Learning and Constructive-Developmental Theory Intersections: Expanding Diversity beyond Race, Class, and Gender to Cultures of Mind.”
Dr. Dan W. Butin published an article in the Journal of Educational Controversy entitled “Dark Times Indeed: NCATE, Social Justice, and the Marginalization of Multicultural Foundations.”
Dr. Sandra Bridwell was chosen as a member of the Education and Training Review Team for the Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government’s 2007 Innovations in American Government Awards Program
Dr. Dan W. Butin was a keynote speaker at Lasell College’s 2007 “Readers as Leaders” conference, where he spoke on issues of educational inequity and community engagement.
Dr. Dan W. Butin published an article, “Focusing Our Aim: Strengthening Faculty Commitment to Community Engagement” in the November/December 2007 issue of the higher education magazine Change.
