Mr. Nitzberg is a graduate of Cambridge College, earning his master of education in 1992. He has many years experience working on community isses. Prior to his current position at the college, he was the director of a statewide project, establishing local community coalitions to help parents support their children's education (Massachusetts Parent Involvement Project of the Department of Education.) He has been the co-founder of a number of initiatives to support communities, including the Massachusetts Community Education Association, Somerville Coalition for Racial and Ethnic Justice, Multicultural Coalition for Quality Education, Somerville Cares About Prevention. Aside from being the director of the Institute and coordinator of the College's community building concentration and program, he teaches in the Year-Up program as well as the undergraduate course, School, Family and Community Partnerships.
Diane Lolli MEd, Associate Director

Diane Lolli is a professional educator with over 30 years of experience as an educational consultant in the greater Boston area. Ms. Lolli presents information to learners on a variety of subjects, specializing in business, special, and medical education. In her current role as faculty member and Coordinator of the Interpreter Training Programs for Cambridge College, she develops and oversees programs and internship sites and conducts on-site observations of student interns. As Director of Education of the MassBay Community College Medical Interpreter Program, Ms. Lolli wrote the curricula for the program and provided instruction in the role of the medical interpreter, anatomy and pathophysiology, and professional development. In addition, Diane collaborates with clients, many in the Longwood medical area, and plans programming that fosters awareness of current educational practices and promotes positive employee morale.

Stephanie Renard graduated from Simmons College in 2003 with a bachelors of arts degree in public relations & marketing communications, and a minor in sociology. She has previously worked with many non-profit organizations to assist them with their marketing, press releases, press kits, website development, and many administrative responsibilities.

Norma earned her master's degree in business administration and a certificate from the Medical Interpreter Training Program from Cambridge College. As a graduate of the MITP and having worked as a medical interpreter intern at Massachusetts General Hospital and Lawrence General Hospital, Norma understands the challenges that students encounter and serves as a role model to students who are inspired by her accomplishments. As a community field coordinator, language tester, and language specialist/translator for the Boston Public Schools, Norma has both the bilingual capability and the experience to counsel applicants who are interested in becoming medical interpreters and who seek other educational opportunities in the Institute for Lifelong Learning and Community Building. Norma has also been instrumental in developing and delivering the advising program to certificate students as a means of facilitating their academic progress.

Ms. Calaf has worked on many, many projects through the last 25 years in Boston. She established the Community Partnership Network in 1999 that has helped connect many diverse organizations and resources. The skills that Ms.Calaf brings to the College include teaching, media production, facilitation of community forums and focus groups, translation, and event planning. She has worked with television and radio productions and offers experiences in public speaking, networking, graphic skills, and strategic planning. Ms. Calaf is a firm believer that each of us are important contributors, and each of us needs to help each other. She brings many networking contacts to the College, helping establish links with diverse communities. Ms. Calaf has worked in different settings, including arts and culture, community development, human services, youth, museums, government and media and has contacts within these settings to bring to the College.
