DIANE PATRICK Cambridge College Commencement Speaker, Cambridge First Lady of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; Partner, Ropes & Gray. First Lady Diane B. Patrick is a teacher, lawyer, mother, and an active member of the community. A partner with the firm of Ropes & Gray in Boston, Diane Patrick specializes in labor and employment law. Throughout her life and professional career, Diane Patrick has dedicated herself to various communities and causes. She currently serves on the Boards of the United Way of Massachusetts Bay, the Posse Foundation and Jane Doe, Inc. As a former public school teacher, she has seen first-hand how education is essential in workforce development, civic engagement, and building communities. As First Lady, Diane Patrick is committed to working closely with the Governor on early education and domestic violence issues.
Honorary Degree Recipient, Cambridge Senior Advisor, The Atlantic Philanthropies Raymond L. Handlan is the Senior Advisor of The Atlantic Philanthropies, an organization that is dedicated to bringing about lasting changes in the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable people. As its first president, Ray led the foundation in its anonymous phase accomplishing much without taking credit. He has spent much of his life working to bring about change through strategic philanthropy. Ray has served as a trustee of the Alliance for Aging Research, a member of the Futures Project Advisory Board for Brown University and on the Board of Governors of Indiana University's Center on Philanthropy.
