Code of Conduct

Cambridge College’s commencement ceremony symbolizes the culmination of your academic efforts.  It is an important and exciting day for you, your family, and friends. Cambridge College faculty and staff want all graduates to enjoy their Commencement ceremony. Celebrate your accomplishment in a way that is in keeping with the solemnity of this occasion. Keep in mind that many people have worked long and hard to enjoy this day — do not allow your celebrations to disrupt the ceremony for them.

Students and members of the audience are asked to be respectful of those who are speaking and performing during the ceremony. As such, we ask that you and your family turn off your cell phones and other electronic devices that may be disruptive, and do not use noisemakers because they will prevent others from hearing  the student’s name that follows yours.  Keep in mind that names are announced at a rapid pace and there are virtually no pauses.
Do not bring anything that can obstruct the view of the stage. Additionally, umbrellas and balloons are not allowed into the venue.

Please come prepared to stay for the duration of the ceremony. Also, be reminded that guests should not enter the seating areas for graduates and disabled guests, even if it is just to take photographs. Professional photographers will be at the ceremony taking several close-ups shots that will be available for purchase.

Students or guests who are disruptive will be escorted from the ceremony.

* Please note that due to safety concerns, children will not be permitted to walk across the stage during the ceremony.
