Q:
What is meant by the term “accelerated” programs?
A:
Adult students generally don’t want to spend years and years
earning a degree. That’s why Cambridge College works hard to
create schedules that meet adult students’ needs. We offer intensive
weekend classes in the fall and spring, and weekday and weekend classes
in the summer, when students are available. The longer classes require
less travel time and allow more time to focus on in-depth topics.
The Internet has also made communication with classmates and instructors
easier and faster. We take full advantage of this accelerated format
to speed up your education. Most of our students are able to take
12 – 15 credits per term.
Q:
Will Cambridge College offer classes throughout the year so that I can
finish my degree requirements quickly?
A:
Yes. Cambridge College operates during three distinct terms —
spring, summer and fall. Spring and fall courses are primarily held
on weekends, while summer courses are held both during the week and
on weekends.
Q:
What are the class times?
A:
Weekend classes begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 6:15 p.m. Summer courses
follow the same weekend schedule, with additional classes held four
days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. Most classes begin at 8:00
a.m. and end at 6:15 p.m. All class days include an hour for lunch
and adequate breaks. The instructor can also modify the class hours
to accommodate the material and teaching style.
Q:
Are the classes held online or on location?
A:
We believe in an adult learning model that utilizes instructor-led
classes and collaborative learning. Online courses are used to complement
on-site classes.
Q:
Can Cambridge College assist me with financial aid?
A:
Yes. Although the responsibility for course payment is yours, we will
gladly assist you with the paperwork. We have a financial aid office
to assist you in this regard, and can send you the necessary paperwork
for the Department of Education’s Stafford Loan Program. You
can qualify for this loan if you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
and are not in default of a student loan.
Q:
Do I have to take any tests to enter Cambridge College?
A:
Absolutely not. For undergraduate programs, a high school diploma
is required. For master’s degree programs, a bachelor’s
degree is required. Some credential programs have further requirements
as well. For Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS), a master’s
degree is required for admission.
Q:
Can I transfer master credits from other institutions?
A:
Yes. If you attended a regionally accredited college or university,
we may accept up to 12 master credits. Some licensure/ credential
programs have more specific requirements.
Q:
What about books and use of the library?
A:
We recognize the potentially high cost of books and make every attempt
to use textbooks that are the best in their respective fields and
are fairly priced. We also offer free access to an extensive online
library, which lets you focus on your specialty.
Q:

your credential requirements. With Cambridge College, you can get
