Cambridge College Commencement 2014

“…I admire what you are doing…making sure that people regardless of their economic status, get the best education they are personally capable of achieving,” stated Barney Frank.

On Sunday June 1, 2014, Cambridge College celebrated its 43rd Commencement Exercises at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion. Over 500 graduates crossed the stage to join the community of more than 33,000 Cambridge College alumni.

Our guest singers, Athene Wilson and Lori Harper, set the tone with a beautiful rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner" and “I Believe.” This year we had the honor of welcoming former Congressman Barney Frank as an Honorary Degree recipient and Commencement Speaker.  Mr. Frank started his commencement speech by stating:  “I am delighted to be here.  Frankly, once I retired I cut back on the number of speeches I give… I was very gratified to get the invitation to speak from at an institution that is doing one of the things that America is not very good at, and I admire that you are doing:  making sure that people regardless of their economic status get the best education they are personally capable of achieving.

Also receiving Honorary Doctorates in Humane Letters were Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Court Roderick L. Ireland and the founder of El Mundo Newspaper Alberto Vasallo, Jr.

Congratulations to the 2014 Cambridge College graduates. We wish you the best in your future academic and professional endeavors, and proudly welcome you to the Cambridge College Alumni Community!
