Admissions Counselor- Augusta, GA Admissions [Posted March 8, 2013]
POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Regional Center Director, the Admissions Counselor works to increase inquiries and convert applications into enrolled students throughout the region. Inquiries are garnered through information sessions, outreaches to community colleges, educational institutions, school districts, organizations, agencies, businesses, and conferences, events and fairs attended including excellent customer service from the initial prospective student inquiry and throughout the completion of the admission process. The position requires a flexible work schedule, including weekends and evenings, a valid drivers license, and the ability to travel throughout the region during days, evenings, and weekends as scheduled.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Responsible to meet enrollment goals
- Contribute to marketing, advertising, and outreach planning
- Contribute to activities and events scheduling
- Network with school districts, other organizations and agencies to produce leads
- Attend and represent the college at recruitment events and activities
- Conduct internet research to identify prospective community organizations/agencies for collaboration
- Schedule and network with organizations, schools and agencies to set up info sessions
- Establish and maintain relationships with outreach contacts
- Collaborate and work cooperatively with all staff, administrators, and all of the college departments and offices as related
- Comply with enrollment policies and procedures of Cambridge College and all regulatory agencies
- Conduct ethical and professional interaction with all prospective students and the community, convey information accurately and responsibly, follow policies and procedures with integrity to uphold our institutional values
- Assist students throughout the admission process
- Attend admission counselors weekly meetings and provide weekly activity reports
- Attend training and professional growth sessions
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- Use phone, email, and mail to communicate with prospective students in a timely manner
- Ability to work with individual prospective students or in groups of prospective students while recognizing individual academic needs and advise accordingly
- Perform other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE: Recruiting, management, sales, and/or knowledge of higher education strongly preferred; Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills; Well-developed presentation skills are required; Goal oriented and intrinsically motivated with superior customer service and networking skills; Facility with MS Office Suite and the Internet as a tool; Ability to manage student files and rosters via the Jenzabar system; Ability to build relationships with students and determine the correct program fit for students career and personal goals and follow them through the enrollment process; Experience working with adult population preferred; Professional attire and personal presentation required daily.

PHYSICAL EFFORT REQUIRED:
- Ability to work long hours and/or travel within a reasonable distance.
