POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director represents Cambridge College to prospective students and organizations and works to increase inquiries and convert applications into enrolled students. The Assistant Director is responsible for providing direction, supervision and training to enrollment counselors, specifically within the Counseling Psychology team. The Assistant Director is responsible for supervising the School of Psychology and Counseling admissions team and assisting the Associate Director of Admissions when needed.
The successful Assistant Director counselor exhibits superior organization, problem-solving and interpersonal skills. In addition he/she must exhibit superior customer service skills and professionalism throughout daily interactions and communications with students including interviews, phone calls, emails and information sessions.
The Assistant Director creates and implements recruitment strategies both individually and for the CP team to reach prospective students through events, referrals, on-line and print communications and outreaches to businesses and organizations. The Assistant Director must demonstrate an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members, faculty, students, alumni, administrators and staff and serves as a liaison between prospective students and student service offices. A flexible work schedule is required which will include days, evenings and some weekends. Travel, valid drivers license and access to a vehicle are required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Meets enrollment goals.
- Direct, supervise and train CP team enrollment counselors.
- Participates in the performance evaluation process for enrollment counselors.
- Supervise, coordinate and facilitate all college wide information sessions.
- Coordinate with the marketing department to produce advertisements and promotional materials for the School of Psychology & Counseling.
- Provide prospective applicants with information about academic programs, educator licensure, admissions requirements, and financial aid options.
- Develop and maintain networks with non-profit and counseling organizations to promote the college and establish cohorts.
- Work as part of the team to help develop outreaches and information sessions, student referrals and professional networks.
- Ability to work on a registration deadline, meet required enrollment goals and use outstanding customer service to recruit to the colleges programs.
- Develop and update a database of all outreaches for all schools. Contact people with whom workshops and information sessions can be booked. Network with new contacts to help increase retention.
- Participate in events prior, during and after each term such as information sessions, orientations, registration events and graduation.
- Ability to work independently, and to arrange information sessions, set appointments and promote the College in a positive manner.
- Ability to follow the expectation of treating fellow employees, students and the institutions guests with civility and kindness; and to refrain from activities that disrupt the efficient functioning of the college.
- Ability to manage stress and work under pressure while multi-tasking under deadlines.
- Ability to supervise and be supervised, giving and accepting constructive criticism.
- Collaborates with the Colleges academic, business, financial aid and registrars offices to address student inquiries and to appropriately direct student requests for services.
EXPERIENCE: Recruiting, management, sales, and/or knowledge of higher education strongly preferred; Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills; Well-developed presentation skills are required; Goal oriented and intrinsically motivated with superior customer service and networking skills; Facility with MS Office Suite and the Internet as a tool; Ability to manage student files and rosters via the Jenzabar system; Ability to build relationships with students and determine the correct program fit for students career and personal goals and follow them through the enrollment process; Experience working with adult population preferred; Professional attire and personal presentation required daily.
The candidate is required to be mobile and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 lbs.
