POSITION SUMMARY: The Educational Leadership Doctoral Program (ELDP) at Cambridge College offers a unique EdD program for educators pursuing careers as social justice leaders in education.
Our program features-

As currently performed, this position entails two areas of performance: (1) direct administrative responsibility for EdD and CAGS programs within Educational Leadership and indirect administrative responsibility for MEd, School Administration that is also part of Educational Leadership, and (2) full-time faculty assignment within the EdD program. The Director supervises two positions, the Program Manager for Educational Leadership and the Program Coordinator, MEd, School Administration who acts as the de facto assistant director of the Educational Leadership Unit. The Director also is required to teach courses in the EdD Program, particularly quantitative research and other educational leadership courses plus doctoral seminars appropriate to areas of expertise. There is also a continued expectation to maintain a scholarship agenda through the publication of articles, presenting at conferences, or creating other scholarship artifacts that are of benefit to the College.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Oversees the operation, scheduling and maintenance of the CAGS and the Ed.D. Programs.
- Supervises MEd, School Administration Program Coordinator and EdD and CAGS Program Manager.
- Develops and implements the curriculum in cooperation with the faculty.
- Identifies and recruits faculty for the CAGS and Ed.D. Programs.
- Ensure the academic quality and integrity of all Educational Leadership programs. Conducts an ongoing evaluation of the curriculum and program policies and procedures.
- Work with/supervise Program Coordinator, MEd, School Administration to initiate recommendations regarding program planning, course scheduling and faculty assignments within the program, in conjunction with the assigned person for Academic School Dean and the person for academic scheduling.
- Develops process and criteria (where appropriate) for evaluation of faculty and staff within Educational Leadership unit. Perform part of evaluation process as defined by appropriate contract and handbook codicils.
- Oversee Program Managers efforts and also perform academic advising and take care of the academic needs of the students in the program as needed. Orient and advice students within the program, especially doctoral students as needed and appropriate.
- Prepares the CAGS/Ed. D. budget in consultation with the Dean, SOE and works with the MEd, School Administration Program Coordinator and faculty in preparing the annual budget.
- Supports faculty professional development.
- Serve as dissertation chair.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: - Teach courses in the EdD or CAGS programs as needed to support the mission of the Educational Leadership unit.
- Oversee and coordinate in consultation with the Dean of the School of Education, the schools efforts to seek all identified program accreditations through Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC).
- Assist the School of Education in developing institutional priorities and specific action plan items to accomplish identified and required goals in preparation and support for TEAC. The identification and setting of institutional priorities will be done in a collaborative manner with College administrators, program coordinators, and faculty members involved in the process.
- Serve as a resource and identify appropriate research and best practice to consider for benchmarking purposes in the development of indicators and milestones documenting the different aspects of the programs performance, linking these to accreditation standards and other standards/criteria used by the different programs.
- Work with the program faculty to assist with accreditation matters in the coordination to measure student and program performance and achievement. Informally and formally evaluate the appropriateness of the data collection process to check for improvement opportunities.
- Be a representative of the Program.
- Support (by offering advice and consultation) marketing and public relations for the program, in conjunction with the Director of Admissions and the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean, SOE.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Earned doctorate in educational leadership or related field.
- Scholarship appropriate to level of position and professional activity.
- Prior higher education teaching or administrative experience at the graduate level.
- Experience in teaching using the adult learning model.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Experience in teaching research methodology courses, especially quantitative.
- Prior higher education administrative or teaching experience in a post-Masters/doctoral degree program.
- Experience serving in doctoral committees. Major preference for prior dissertation chair experience.
- Minimum of three years experience as K-12 administrator as at least a principal or equivalent with active or recent certification as a site level or central level administrator preferred, or three years experience as program coordinator or high in a higher education setting (preferably at an institution where there are graduate programs).
- A demonstrable active research agenda that supports personal and unit goals.


SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Embraces working with students from traditionally under-represented groups.
- Evidence demonstrating a commitment to promote an inactive environment leading to meaningful change.
- Knowledge of IT and its use in the classroom. Ability to use MS Office suite programs.

PHYSICAL EFFORT REQUIRED:
- Lifting up to 25 pounds is possible.
- Travelling to different teaching sites is possible based on classroom location and type.

SALARY: Commensurate with position
