ENROLLMENT COUNSELOR National Institute for Teaching Excellence (NITE) [Posted October 23, 2009]
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director of NITE Enrollment, the Enrollment Counselor works to increase inquiries received from their territory during the recruiting season. States include, but not limited to, Pennsylvania, Georgia, South Carolina, New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts. Inquiries are garnered through information sessions, outreaches to school systems, conferences attended and referrals and aggressively responding to student inquiries while providing superior customer service to prospective students in the high touch tradition of Cambridge College. The NITE Enrollment Counselor is expected to reach their goal, taking prospective students through the process from inquiry through enrollment. A flexible work schedule that will include days, evenings, and some weekends is required. Travel and access to a vehicle is necessary.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -Work as part of the team to help develop outreaches and information sessions, student referrals and professional networks.
-Develop and update a database of teachers, guidance counselors and contact people with whom workshops can be booked. Network with new contacts to help increase inquiry production.
-Utilize phone, email and mail to communicate with prospective students in a timely manner, providing superior student service.
-Become familiar with working territory and demographics of cities/towns in that area to best reach the student population for Cambridge College.
-Work with teacher and guidance organizations, arranging information sessions, attending conferences, etc.
-Collaborate with our growing alumni network to develop new student/professional networks, garner student referrals. Alumni are to be utilized at information sessions, outreaches, phoning etc.
-Attending training sessions to receive updated information about new programs, services, etc.
-Under the direction of the Director of NITE Enrollment, participate in the events prior, during, and after the 5 week residency program in Massachusetts during the summer.
-Related duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree or higher; Relevant experience in higher education preferred, ideally in college/university admissions/recruiting or community organizing and/or professional sales experience; Demonstrated well developed customer service communications skills; Facility with MS Office Suite and the Internet as a tool; Ability to manage students files and rosters via the Jenzabar system, and follow them through to attendance at NITE; Experience working with adult populations preferred.
