DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS OPERATIONS
COLLEGE ADMINISTRATION

GENERAL STATEMENT: This full time position, reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration, is responsible for providing day to day administrative direction to the Purchasing, Facilities, External Services, Logistics Offices, and other assigned business-related services and for integrating these services with other operations of the College consistent with College policy and procedures. Will exercise supervision over appropriate professional and classified staff. This position will include travel to College Regional Centers and leased buildings in Massachusetts. Incumbent must have daily access to a vehicle for local travel. May require some evenings and weekends, and include occasional on-call duties.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: -Direct and manage the following functional areas: Facilities, Capital Projects, Procurement, Contract Office, Public Safety, Inventory Management, Copy/Duplicating, Mailroom, Shipping/Receiving and Contracted Services to include - Security, Switchboard, Vending Services, and Building Maintenance.
-Manage the annual budgets as assigned.
-Liaison with Center Directors and/or Third Party Building Maintenance Company for the management of Facilities at the Colleges Regional Centers.
-Review applicable contracts for the College and recommend updates/changes as appropriate.
-Responsible for designing, organizing, and delivering associated safety trainings and/or drills, to include emergency preparedness, workshops, building evacuations, and first aid procedures.
-Ensure appropriate levels of documentation (policy & procedural) for all areas under management. Responsible for writing and updating relevant policies and procedures where necessary.
-Will participate in crisis management planning
-Assist as necessary with the annual audits at the College
-Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Masters Degree in Business or in a related field required; Five or more years related operations experience required, higher education industry strongly preferred; Demonstrated abilities in fiscal control and managing budgets required; Experience with computerized accounting systems; pc spreadsheet applications required; Five or more years experience supervising unionized staff required; Strong demonstrated interpersonal skills; Strong proficiency in oral and written expression.
